These are the terms of membership in The Recovering Human Community. They are written plainly on purpose. This is a room built on people keeping their word to each other, and an agreement nobody reads protects nobody.
By joining, you are agreeing to all of it.
01. What you are joining
Membership includes a weekly one-hour group meeting held on Zoom, an optional half hour after each meeting, a private group chat shared only with the members of your group, and a newsletter published twice a month and occasional tools.
Groups are formed and assigned by Rebecca Grey. No two members from the same company are placed in the same group. Meetings are facilitated peer support: members speak about their own experience, and no one is required to speak at all.
02. What this is not
This is not therapy, counseling, or clinical care of any kind. Rebecca Grey is a coach and a former corporate executive. She is not a licensed mental health professional, and nothing offered here is a diagnosis, a treatment, or medical advice.
This is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please contact emergency services or a crisis line rather than waiting for a meeting. In the United States you can call or text 988.
If something arises that calls for a therapist, Rebecca will say so and can point you toward professional support. Many members will be doing both, and that is a good thing.
Nothing in this community is legal, financial, or employment advice. Decisions about your job, your employer, or any dispute with them are yours alone.
03. Confidentiality
This is the obligation everything else depends on, and it runs in every direction.
What is said in the room stays in the room. You will not repeat, quote, paraphrase, summarize, or describe what another member shares, to anyone outside the group, in any form, at any time. This applies during your membership and after it ends.
Names do not leave the group. Members share first names inside the group and nowhere outside it. You will not identify another member to anyone, including by describing them in a way that could identify them.
The chat is covered too. Everything above applies to the group chat exactly as it applies to meetings. Do not screenshot, forward, or copy its contents.
You may talk about your own experience. You are free to say that you are a member and to speak about what you brought to the room. What you may not do is carry anyone else's material out of it.
04. No recording
Meetings are never recorded, by anyone. Rebecca does not record them, and members may not record them either, by any means, including audio, video, screen capture, transcription tools, or AI note-taking assistants.
Do not bring a recording or transcription tool into a meeting or the chat. If you use software that joins meetings automatically, disable it before attending.
05. Member requirements
In order to ensure shared values and a safe space, members agree to the following:
White supremacy and patriarchy are real. They shape how our systems were built and how people are treated.
The economic, the political and the social are interconnected. We are not going to separate them.
A willingness to question capitalism. Not agreement, willingness. You do not have to have arrived at a position, but you do need to be open to examining the system rather than treating it as a fact of nature, and to taking other ways of organizing work and life seriously.
Anonymity and confidentiality. As set out in section 03.
You are joining to be part of something, not just to consume. That does not mean speaking every week or never missing a meeting.
Membership is open to all women, including trans women, and to nonbinary people who find a women's space right for them.
06. How we behave in the room
No cross-talk during sharing. Members do not advise, correct, interrupt, or attempt to fix one another during the meeting. Feedback and advice may be requested in the half hour afterward, or in the chat.
This is an anti-racist, feminist space. It is not a debate about whether it should be.
No recruiting or selling. Members are not here to be contacts, clients, or leads. Do not use the group or the chat to promote a business, recruit, or solicit.
Political and social topics will come up. Work and the economy are not separate from the rest of life, and the room proceeds on that basis.
07. Your information
At joining you provide your name, email address, and where you work. Your employer is collected for one reason only: so that you are never placed in a group with a colleague. Rebecca is the only person who sees it, and it is never shared with anyone or used for anything else.
Payment is processed by Stripe. Rebecca does not see or store your card details.
Rebecca keeps a private record of members for the purposes of running the community: name, email, employer, group assignment, and what you pay. Nothing about who you are or what you pay is ever visible to other members.
08. Payment, renewal and cancellation
Membership is $150 per month, or $1,500 for a year paid at once.
It renews automatically on the same date each month or year until you cancel.
You can cancel at any time. There is no contract, no minimum term, and no notice period. You cancel yourself through the billing portal link you receive when you join, and no conversation is required.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. You keep access for the remainder of that month or year.
Payments already made are not refunded for partial periods. If something has genuinely changed in your circumstances, write to Rebecca and she will talk to you about it.
If a payment fails, Stripe will retry and notify you. Membership pauses if it cannot be collected.
09. Sliding scale
If the full price is not workable, email Rebecca and say what is. One line is enough. You will not be asked to prove anything, submit anything, or explain your situation, and no one in your group will ever know what anyone else pays.
A reduced rate is a full membership in every respect.
10. Leaving and removal
You may leave whenever you wish, for any reason or none. You do not owe anyone an explanation.
A breach of confidentiality ends your membership immediately. Not a warning, not a conversation. The promise in section 03 only means something if the consequence is certain, and every member is protected by the same rule. The remainder of the paid period is not refunded.
Rebecca may also end a membership where a member behaves in a way that makes the room unsafe or unworkable for others, or where the requirements in section 05 are not being kept. Where the reason is not a confidentiality breach, any unused portion of the current period is refunded.
11. Meetings and schedule
Meetings run weekly, with breaks around major holidays announced in advance. Cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances will also be communicated as soon as possible.
Meeting times may occasionally change, and a meeting may occasionally be rescheduled. Notice is given in the group chat and by email. Missing meetings has no consequence and nothing is built to require consecutive attendance.
12. Materials and intellectual property
The newsletters, exercises, worksheets, frameworks, and meeting content are mine. They are the work I make a living from.
As a member you can use all of it for yourself, for as long as you want, including after you leave.
What you cannot do is republish it, pass it around outside the community, sell it, teach it as your own, use it to run your own group, or put it into an AI tool to be trained on or reproduced.
What you learn here is yours. The ideas, the history, the language for what is happening to you, the things you decide to do differently. Take all of it, use it, tell people about it. This is about my materials, not about your knowledge.
And what you say in a meeting or the chat belongs to you. I will not quote you, write about you, or use your story in anything I publish without asking first and getting a yes.
13. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. If anything material changes, members are told in the group chat and by email before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page is updated. Continuing your membership after that means you accept the change.
